Escape the hubbub of city life and visit the tranquil heartland of Devon, with its glorious rolling hills, picturesque villages, bustling market towns and stunning countryside. Mid Devon has something for everyone. Whether you are looking for
holiday or business accommodation in a farmhouse B&B or self
catering in a secluded country cottage; evenings
out in a real ale pub with delicious home cooked food or a high quality
restaurant; exciting
tourist attractions & entertainment in the region - then we can help!
Use the links on the left to locate the holiday home you are looking for. The Devonshire Heartland region is the area surrounded by Tiverton, Axminster, Exeter, Crediton, Okehampton and up to South Molton. It includes Honiton, Ottery St Mary, Cullompton, Chulmleigh and all the villages in-between. The members of the Devonshire Heartland Tourism Association can provide you with everything you need to plan and enjoy your family holiday, short break or romantic weekend away in the west country. All our members' premises are inspected annually so you can always be assured of high quality accommodation. If you prefer the luxury of serviced accommodation see hotels and guesthouses providing bed and breakfast. For those that enjoy all the comforts of home but prefer to go self-catering, we have beautiful holiday cottages and chalets throughout the region. If the great outdoors suits you better we also have camping and caravan sites. Most of our members offer family accommodation and many welcome dogs.
For those less active among us, Devon's heartland also has plenty to offer. Take in the stunning countryside views or just relax far away from the city crowds. We have a plethora of cream tea shops, real-ale pubs and excellent quality restaurants. There are regular farmers markets and both Tiverton and Crediton are home to many independent shops. The cathedral city of Exeter has extensive shopping facilities. Each season has its own attractions, be it beautiful spring flowers, autumn colours or cosy winter fires. Even in the height of summer this area is a perfect place to escape the holiday crowds. Whatever the season you visit, you can be assured of a warm Devon welcome! Relax... |
