The Fox and Hounds sits alongside the River Taw offering fine forest walks and fishing. An ideal location to enjoy the Devon countryside and explore the local market towns.

Situated on the A377, halfway between Exeter and Barnstaple, a 2 minute walk from Eggesford Station. Our talented chef creates excellent meals sourcing local produce, providing a delicious traditional menu and bar snacks. We are open all day serving lunches and evening meals. Our bar is well stocked offering local ales and cider, tea and coffee. Children and pets are welcome.

We have 17 individually furnished en-suite bedrooms with several family rooms and one on the ground floor with its own private patio. We have wheelchair access and disabled toilets. Dont miss our Sunday carvery each week with a regular live jazz session on the last Sunday of the month.

The hotel is the perfect wedding location set in beautiful surroundings. We can offer conference facilities, corporate entertainment and country sports to interest you. Fishing is on the River Taw, we offer special 3 day fishing breaks/shooting breaks. Clay shooting, horse riding breaks and Falconry can be arranged. Fly fishing tuition and ghillie service available. Rods and waders can be hired.
